There’s no doubt about it. Weapon lights are essential for shooters. Not only do they help you identify your target in low-light settings, but they also provide a tactical advantage by allowing you to keep both hands on the rifle grip.

The best overall light for MK18 is the Streamlight 88059 ProTac Rail Mount 2. This light is great for several reasons, but the two that stand out the most are its versatility and durability.

Let’s look at the other best weapon lights for MK18:

Top 5 Best MK18 Tactical lights

1. Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 2 – Editor’s choice

The Streamlight ProTac is my top pick for the best tactical light for MK18. This light is extremely versatile and can be mounted on many firearms. It’s also very durable, which is essential for a weapon light.

What I like – The Streamlight ProTac comes with many goodies! It has both Picatinny mount and remote pressure pad attachments and an end cap for more storage options. There are also zip ties so you can keep your cables neat and tidy during installation.

Similar features to surefire – The Streamlight pro tac is almost similar to the surefire m600, but if you compare the price, the Streamlight is half the price of surefire making it more affordable.

In my comparison – I found that the Streamlight ProTac had a very powerful center beam. It’s just slightly cooler than SureFire’s, and it only became noticeable when they were next to each other indoors.

Footprint – One of the best things about ProTac 2 is that it has a footprint identical to M600. This means all your SureFire mounts work with this tactical light as well.

My Experience

I compared this light 650 lumens to the surefire 600 lumens, and it was very close. The Streamlight was a bit cooler in color but not by much. I think the biggest difference is the price point, with the Streamlight being half the price of the surefire. Overall, I think this is an excellent light for MK18 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality weapon light for mk18.

2. SureFire M Series Scout Light – Gold standard

The SureFire M Series Scout Light is the gold standard when it comes to weapon lights. This light is incredibly bright, has a long battery life, and is very durable. It’s also one of the most expensive lights on this list.

SureFire Scout is built to last, and you can feel it in your hands. That’s why people choose Surefire when they need something tough.

The rugged design of this light, made especially for outdoor enthusiasts, will give them the ultimate peace of mind knowing their investment is protected no matter what.

If you’re going to be using your light consistently, then get the package with both rear push-button caps and an on/off switch. This way, it’s always ready when you need it.

With a brightness level of 500 lumens, this product has the perfect balance between visibility and capability. It can be seen from afar but does not overwhelm you when inside your house or other confined spaces.

The SureFire Scout has a very bright center beam that makes it easy to identify your primary target up close or at a distance.

The light output of the SureFire Scout is a little more yellowish than the Streamlight ProTac 2, but it’s not a big difference.

It comes with a Picatinny rail mount, but I prefer lights on the sides for weight reasons and because it gets in my way when shooting from above.

The Midwest QD Mount is an excellent solution for moving your light between different rifles. It does add some extra height, but it’s worth the advantage!

My experience

I’ve used this light for a few years now and it’s still going strong. I’ve dropped it, stepped on it, and even shot it a few times (on purpose), and it still works like new. I’ve never had any issues with the light output or battery life. The only downside is the price, but you get what you pay for with this light.

3. OLIGHT Odin GL Mini – Best value for money

The OLIGHT Odin GL Mini is this list’s best value for money. It’s almost as bright as the SureFire M Series Scout Light, but it’s half the price. It also comes with a lot of features that the more expensive lights, i.e., The Streamlight ProTac 2, don’t have.

What I like – The Odin GL Mini is a great choice for those who want to save money on training. With its USB rechargeable light, the user can spend almost unlimited amounts of time in darkness without worrying about running out or being low!

The integrated green laser is the biggest difference between this light and the others. This is a game-changer for precision shooting because it makes it much easier to hit your target, even at long range.

Same Surefire Footprint: The footprint of the Odin GL Mini is identical to that of the M600, which means all your current SureFire mounts will work with this tactical light.

My experience

I was really impressed with this product, especially for the price. The green laser is a great addition and makes it much easier to hit your target. The only downside is that the battery life isn’t as good as some of the other lights on this list, but it’s still very good. Overall, I think this is an excellent light for the price and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality weapon light.

4. Inforce WMLx – Best Control ergonomics

The Inforce WMLx White is the best light when it comes to controlling ergonomics. This is a very important consideration because you don’t want to fumble around with your light in a stressful situation. The last thing you want is for your light to go out when you need it the most.

What I like – The accidental activation button and two methods of prevention make this tactical light the perfect choice for those who are always on the go.

The battle between metal and polymer is an ode to durability. I’ve banged this light against some pretty hard things, but so far, it has held up well.

My experience

I’ve had this light for a few years now, and it’s still going strong. My WML is a workhorse and has been through everything. It doesn’t matter if you’re roughing it up or shooting competitively.

5. Cloud Defensive OWL Weapon Light

The large size of the Owl light makes it an excellent choice for outdoor events. The durable construction provides long-lasting use, and its powerful beam can easily illuminate a wide area.

If you want a light for 150 to 300 yards shooting, this is the light for you. The OWL can easily throw light that far and still provide a decent amount of illumination on target.

What I like – The Cloud Defensive Owl is one of the few lights that come with a remote pressure switch included. This is a great feature because it allows you to operate the light without taking your hand off your weapon.

The Switch wires are designed to avoid snags and breaks, with an integrated tape switch plate for high-speed, low drag.

This will fit anywhere on your setup, whether you are right or left-handed, with tool-free weapon light mounting.

My experience

When I first got this light, I was a little bit disappointed with the size. But once I started using it, I quickly realized that the size is actually an asset. The large size makes it much easier to grip and manipulate, even when wearing gloves. Overall, I think this is a great light for both indoor and outdoor use.
