The main difference between the two lights is that the Streamlight TLR-1 is a LED light while the Surefire X300 is an incandescent light.

The distinction between LED lights and incandescent lights lies in their energy consumption, with LEDs using significantly less energy than incandescent bulbs due to the efficiency of diode lighting compared to filament lighting.

LED lights boast increased durability and a longer lifespan, though they may not achieve the same brightness as incandescent lights.

In terms of features, the Streamlight TLR-1 surpasses the Surefire X300, offering an adjustable rail clamp, an ambidextrous ON/OFF switch, and a momentary ON function. Additionally, it comes at a slightly lower cost than the Surefire X300.

Regardless, whether you opt for the Streamlight TLR-1 or the Surefire X300, you’re choosing a top-quality weapon-mounted light.

Comparison of Streamlight TLR 1 HL Vs Surefire x300 Ultra

Comparing the entire Streamlight TLR 1 HL and Surefire x300 Ultra in this section include all of these weapon lights’ characteristics.

1. Size

These two lights are a great example of that since most shooters favor a compact weapon light. Given that the majority of shooters favor short-length lights, it can be challenging to decide between the Streamlight TLR 1 HL and Surefire x300 Ultra because the differences are so slight.

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

The length of the Streamlight TLR 1 HL is approximately 3.39 inches or 3.4 inches. This is a little excessive when viewed independently of comparisons. Since one of my favorite weapon lights, the Streamlight TLR 7A, does not have this much length, I prefer a light with a shorter length.

Surefire x300 Ultra

The surefire x300 ultra measures 3.7 inches in length, which appears to be quite long. Not just me, but other shooters also dislike such long weapon lights.

Winner: Streamlight TLR 1 HL

Even though the Streamlight TRL 1 HL is longer than the Surefire X300 Ultra, it still performs better. Always choose a weapon light that is not very long, regardless of a difference of just 1 inch.

2. Lumen And Candela

The weapon light is nothing more than a useless material without lumen and candela. Let’s compare what the Streamlight TLR 1 HL and Surefire x300 Ultra have to offer.

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

The Streamlight TLR 1 HL has a light output of 1000 lumens, which is sufficient. I tested the TLR 1 HL’s light output after mounting it to my Glock 19 and doing so at night. A very bright output is completely produced by this weapon light. The Streamlight TLR 1 HL has a 20000 candela light output, which is a higher light intensity. You can see objects up to about 300 yards away with this light.

Surefire x300 Ultra

A light output with a great intensity of roughly 15000 candela is also provided by the Surefire X300 Ultra. I did not experience the same level of satisfaction with the surefire x300’s light as I do with the Streamlight TLR 1 HL. A light that produces 600 lumens and one that produces 1000 lumens are not the same thing.

Winner: Streamlight TLR 1 HL

The Streamlight TLR 1 HL has a brighter light than the surefire x300 ultra. You undoubtedly desire a weapon light with greater power so that you can see a greater distance. The Streamlight TLR 1 HL is the winner in terms of lumen and intensity because of this.

3. Weight – Easy To Carry

Who relishes carrying something heavier? Absolute no one that is. In this comparison, you should pick a light weapon. Which of these two weapon lights is, therefore, the most lightweight?

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

The Streamlight TLR 1 HL is a heavy weapon light, weighing 4.3 ounces. This is a substantial amount of weight, but it also includes the batteries in addition to the weapon light. But even so, the batteries kept it attached. We will therefore consider the 4.3 ounces before making a choice.

Surefire x300 Ultra

The surefire x300 ultra weighs 4.1 ounces, making it heavier than the Streamlight TLR 1 HL by 0.2 ounces. So, would it be accurate to describe the Surefire X300 Ultra as a lightweight weapon light? With 0.2 ounces less weight, the Surefire X300 is unquestionably a winner.

Winner: Surefire x300 Ultra

The shooter’s hand is put under more strain by the weapon light because of how much weight it adds to the weapon. Therefore, purchasing a lightweight and small weapon light would be your best option. And in this instance, the Surefire x300 Ultra weighs less than the Streamlight TLR 1 HL.

4. Attachment

Using the Picatinny or universal rail mount, you can secure the Streamlight TLR 1 HL and surefire x300 ultra. So, how will they appear once they are attached to your preferred suitable weapon?

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

Despite being shorter than the Surefire x300 ultra, the Streamlight TLR 1 HL appears longer when attached to the weapon. How does it appear longer? It appears to be less aligned with the weapon and more out of alignment. Just the difference I noticed when comparing these two weapon lights, this thing has no real impact.

Surefire x300 Ultra:

After being attached to the weapon, the SureFire X300 Ultra also appears to be out of alignment. Nevertheless, it doesn’t appear to be more out of alignment than the Streamlight TLR 1 HL. Even though the surefire x300 ultra is longer than the Streamlight TLR 1 HL but after mounting, it appears to be shorter.

Winner: Surefire x300 Ultra

The length of these weapon lights appears to be a bit low and high due to the way they are attached to the weapons. As a result, the surefire x300 ultra wins in the end once more.

5. Mode Of Operations

The weapon light’s functionality is determined by its modes of operation. How many different types of operation are there, then? What sets them apart from one another?

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

There are several operating modes for the Streamlight TLR 1 HL, including constant on, momentary, and strobe. After attaching the weapon light to the weapon, you can easily change the mode of operation while shooting.

A single downward push of the switch will turn on the light. The momentary mode can be activated and deactivated in this manner. The strobe mode, in which the light flickers, is activated by pressing the switch twice. Additionally, if you turn the switch to the up position, the light will always be on.

Each of these operating modes serves a distinct purpose, and you can change between them depending on the circumstance.

Surefire x300 Ultra

When you press the button, the always-on mode is activated. Only by pulling the switch up will turn the light off. When you push the button forward, the momentary on/off mode is activated. The strobe mode, which is present in the Streamlight TLR 1 HL, is absent from the surefire in this instance.

Winner: Streamlight TLR 1 HL

The Streamlight TLR 1 HL, which has a strobe mode, is the winner in the category of operating modes. The Surefire X300 Ultra would unquestionably be a wise purchase if it had a strobe mode. To summarize, the Streamlight TLR 1 HL has more operating modes and outperforms the surefire x300 ultra.

6. Durability

Another important factor to consider is how long these weapon lights can endure harm. Do these weapon lights all meet the same standards for durability, or is one weapon light better than the others? Let’s research the solutions.

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

Aluminum, a substance with very high strength, is used to construct the Streamlight TLR 1 HL. The aluminum material can easily handle any harm that may result from a weapon light being shattered, falling to the ground, being struck by something, etc. Even though I am confident in the strength of the aluminum material, I smashed it against the wall to test its durability. It survived, and I remained calm. Water cannot cause the Streamlight TLR 1 HL to malfunction with the IPX7 rating. It does not include an ocean but rather a small amount of water, such as rain or humidity.

Surefire x300 Ultra

Additionally, the surefire x300 ultra has an aluminum housing that serves as a layer of protection. The Surefire X300 Ultra, which has an aluminum body, also passes the durability test. It survived the dropping destruction and did not grime. The water resistance level of the Surefire X300 Ultra is the same as that of the Streamlight TLR 1 HL. As a result, the Surefire can withstand haze humidity and submersion in water up to 1m.

Winner: Draw

Because the durability standards of these weapon lights are the same, both are winners. By my expectations, the Streamlight TLR 1 HL and surefire x300 ultra performed admirably, and I, therefore, declared both of them to be durable.

7. Reliability

Due to their solid warranties, both weapon lights are reliant on. These product guarantees enable them to endure even after being damaged.

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

The Streamlight TLR 1 HL comes with a lifelong lifetime guarantee that includes the replacement of faulty products. This means that if a company manufactures a product that is defective in some way and you accidentally obtain it. The company will then be held accountable, and you can either replace the product or request a refund. Aside from that, if your weapon light sustains a slight injury, the company will repair it at no cost to you.

In addition to the company’s warranty, the buyer will also receive a warranty offer from the product’s seller. Furthermore, the seller will fix your item within 30 days of purchase, not after.

Surefire x300 Ultra

Two different warranties were offered for the Surefire x300 Ultra and the Streamlight TLR 1 HL. There are two warranties: one from the product’s seller and the other from the business. The no-questions-asked guarantee is held to the same high standards as the Streamlight warranty. However, these warranties do not cover any replacement or repair of the weapon light if the product is severely damaged.

Winner: Draw

Because both the Streamlight TLR 1 HL and the surefire meet the same reliability standards, there is a tie. That suggests that both weapon lights are trustworthy.

8. Source Of Power

How long can the battery last? What is the maximum amount of shooting you can do? The Streamlight TLR 1 HL and Surefire X300 Ultra both use the same CR-123A battery cell.

Streamlight TLR 1 HL

The Streamlight TLR 1 HL operates for equivalent to 100 minutes, depending on battery power and modes of operation. The three different modes of operation of the Streamlight TLR 1 HL have different effects on the battery.

Surefire x300 Ultra

Since the battery in the surefire x300 Ultra and the Streamlight TLR 1 HL is identical, the runtime is also identical. Surefire x300 ultra also has a few modes of operation, each of which affects the weapon light battery health.

Winner: Draw

Using the same old battery in both the Streamlight TLR 1 HL and the surefire x300 ultra yields no results. Both the weapon and light are excellent, even in a draw.
